they dont usually come with media so you would want to probably get an sd card, i have a sandisk 1gig works pretty* well. so you could probably get one off of ebay for real cheap. Last i checked 5500’s were around 160usd or so, i got mine refurbished for 170usd with all supplies & looked an flet brandnew, excpet for the refurbished sticker, that was i think 3 years ago. More than likely milkytracker would also run on a 5600, 5600 is a little bit better than a 5500. this model was embraced by a large following of hackers, so much so someone even wrote a book! it was called z4ck. dont let that discourage you tho, there is a massive amount of documented information on doing virtually everything. i had mainly bought mine to read ebooks & war walk. When i say linux i mean eventually if you really want to do the obscure stuff you will need to learn the console. You can do an absolute crazy amount of stuff on a zaurus sl5500, but it is linux. I’ll try to answer you questions to my best ability. are there other brands/models of pda that would also be able to run this tracker? (that would be potentially cheaper?)…!!! this is awesome!Įdit: since milkytracker is fasttracker compatible, does that mean that it saves XM files? and if it saves XM’s… can renoise import XM files? i know it can do IT but i have never tried XM … (excited here) So now i am seriously considering getting this zaurus sl-5500 … but i don’t know anything about PDA’s.

A pattern is a series of tracks that are played back simultaneously. The instrument is then sequenced on a monophonic track that contains note, volume and effect data. An instrument is created by arranging one or more audio samples across a keyboard range. Module composition or "tracking" is done through the control of multichannel sample playback.
